RICHARD PAPAZIAN, Branding Consultant
For over 50 years, Mr. Papazian has practiced in various capacities as a marketing and visual communications professional. He provides an integrative array of branding services that include Strategic Planning, Creative Development and Digital Production.
Mr. Papazian started his career, as an account executive at the J. Howard King advertising agency in Providence, Rhode Island. Shortly after moving to Boston in 1968, he founded and operated RKP Associates, a full service advertising agency. For the next 11 years, the agency provided comprehensive marketing and advertising services to a wide spectrum of consumer, industrial, commercial and retail accounts.
In an attempt to leverage his strong visual communications expertise, Papazian repositioned the company as a graphic design firm in 1981. Papazian Design specialized in providing clients with comprehensive Corporate and Brand Identity programs supported by integrative Marketing Communications.
The firm quickly grew during the early 80’s and was known for its synergistic collateral efforts on behalf of such clients as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ocean Spray Cranberries and The Haartz Corporation.
Since the mid 80’s, Mr. Papazian focused his branding expertise and activities to fulfilling his responsibilities as an independent Branding Consultant and later formed Brandizing, a highly specialized consulting firm that supports companies who need to brand or re-brand either their company, products or services.
The company has produced a wide spectrum of branding initiatives for The Boston Public School System, Mountain Union Telecom, Solium Lighting, New Balance Athletic Shoes, EMC Corporation, Fidelity Investments, Sunset Gower Studios and Universal Graphix among others.
Brandizing supports clients both regionally and throughout the United States.
SHAHEN ZAROOKIAN, Design Director
Soon after moving to Boston from abroad in 1979, Shahen Zarookian quickly assimilated a European design style into the American design culture and immediately started producing innovative design solutions that separated him from his peers.
His Euro American signature design style has proved to be the key ingredient to a long and successful career.
In 1983, Zarookian joined forces with Barry Silverstein, the direct marketing Guru of the time, and together they created highly successful direct marketing programs for Digital, AT&T and Polaroid among others. This copywriter/designer team won many NEDMA and national awards for their Direct Marketing programs.
Then, in 1993, he founded Z Design Group and joined a newly formed marketing and design collaborative where he spearheaded design solutions for clients such as Citizens Bank, Fidelity, New Balance and EMC Corporation.
Starting in 1998, he joined the Bose Corporation and for ten years he worked there as an Associate Creative Director.
While at Bose, he successfully produced a “new look” marketing materials platform for Bose Professional Systems Division. He also designed collateral materials for the Bose Automotive Systems Division for both the US and International markets.
Zarookian received several awards from the Bose Corporation, including the prestigious President’s Award. The Bose Industrial Design Department also honored him for his participation in developing new product line packaging ideas. Shahen was also responsible for creating a dramatic new look for the Bose Home Entertainment Division’s new retail packaging.
As Design Director, Shahen spearheads the creative effort and is directly responsible for producing and art directing all of the design services that support the various client brand initiatives at Brandizing.
Arvin Zarookian was raised in Belmont, Massachusetts, attended Belmont High, and studied at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, MA where he majored in Communication Design. Working for design studios in Boston, Los Angeles and Europe, Arvin has acquired over 17 years of Design and Art Direction experience.
In 2000 while in college, he worked for Z Design as a graphic designer and created timeless logos, packaging and marketing materials for clients such as Vision House in Harvard Square, Healthcare Resource Solutions, Inc. and other local and regional clients.
As a part of his global experience, Arvin traveled and worked as a graphic designer in Yerevan, Armenia at Deem communications (Armenia’s leading PR/marketing firm). While there he produced several international design projects for successful businesses such as VivaCell/MTS, travel agencies, and international airports. In 2008, after returning from his creative overseas journey, he joined Z Design in Boston, MA.
In 2010 Arvin moved to Los Angeles and started freelancing as a Senior Art Director and has been creating successful brand and corporate identity solutions including motion graphics for clients nationally and internationally. Clients include Weill Cornell University/New York Presbyterian, Belmont Light , Trip Advisor, Geller Media International, Telsonic Switzerland, Tickets of Boston, Taliani Optical, Vanderweil Engineering, The Caucus and others.
Arvin is a meticulous, professional out of the box creative thinker who prides himself on developing fresh and effective creative design solutions. He is responsible for coordinating the design process from brainstorming to print production and supports and works closely with the Brandizing creative team to produce design solutions for its extended client base around the country.
Arvin brings with him a refreshing new and timely design signature along with an innovative conceptual perspective that often sparks the Brandizing creative team.
